Things like femininity, loyalty and obedience come in degrees. They aren't absolutes.
They still exist today, they just perhaps shrunk in quantity compared to the past.

I sometimes wonder if we idealize the past: were women actually more loyal in the past, or was that just a symptom of the choice to be obedient out of pragmatism?

TBH the only thing like loyalty I really want is forthright honesty: like if she's going to be "disloyal" and fuck Chad then I could at least know ahead of time and prepare myself for it, make choices around her known intentions.

That said, I should also consider that there are things foids might want me to be forthrightly honest about which I would not be. I am fearful about exposing many of my opinions because they could lead to people using those against me to form dox posses.

So on that basis I should consider if I am being hypocritical in wanting something from foids which I do not offer.

I see a difference though because it is on different issues.

Like for example I could mutually make a promise to do something like "tell me if you feel compelled to pursue a relationship with someone other than me" or "tell me if you do end up having such a relationship".

In a perfect world, being loyal to these promises could guarantee that our partner is also loyal to the same promise, and both are kept informed about the relationship health and developments.

However you either have people who want to have+eat cake or people who convince themself not to keep a promise lke that because they lose trust in a partner and believe the partner has or will stray from the promise first anyway.

The latter won't happen if you maintain mutual trust but that can be tricky business since there are so many examples in the world where trust is misplaced. It is difficult to want to gamble and place trust in others with so many failures out there happening.

Many brave this anyway because they think they can do better: make better choices so things work out better. But is this really something you can will or strategize into existence? Or are we just being arrogant thinking we can guarantee or at least make-more-probable a good outcome?

Maybe some are just so desperate in wanting the good outcome that they will roll the dice and hope for the same consecutive percentile. It really does feel like 1 in 10,000 odds sometimes.
