That has been my thought for a long time.
Most people, even if not very well off, can afford a good meal out every weekend once in a while, and expensive drinks like Monster on a regular basis. Maybe a gaming PC, maybe even luxurious brand items (I've got a Hugo Boss (sieg heil) wallet that my dad left for me, I myself don't care about luxurious brands).
All of these long term luxury consumables (such as wallets, bags, and yes, PC parts) essentially have their prices cut in half if you buy them used.
Most people don't struggle with traveling or events, or gym membership either, as long they save up.
SO the average man, like me, is pretty content materially speaking.
But there are other cool things. Expensive watches, sports cars, yachts, or even an apartment, are out of reach. As we know, getting rich is 80% opportunity and 20% hard work, so the risk and stress is simply not worth it.
