Every time I watch these bodycam arrest videos on "predators", 90% of the time the suspect is very obviously mentally challenged, and is probably mentally the same age as their "victim".

I am also fascinated by the quasi deontological legal framework used here, where the person is not judged on merit or consequences caused by their actions but rather, that the law has taken on an absolutist character. Irrespective of harm done, the law must be obeyed. Deontological simply means an ethical framework where the ethical laws are justified by themselves, with no regard for consequences, that defines certain things just as inherently wrong by default, hence the "ontological" part. The word ontology just means study of being or existence, so anything with onto- is about being. De-ontological means, the ethical rule in question is true without further warrant or justification, it is basically synonymous with existence itself, it exists therefore it is true.
Anyone can see the issue with this, especially when applied to the case brought up in the OP. The young man fucked a teenage girl. Society does not even raise the question of if he even caused her harm by doing this. It is just inherently wrong. This then quickly translates into the non-sequitur that all sexual contact with a girl of a certain age necessarily must harm her and thus the perpetrator is guilty of harm. This is insane but unfortunately the basis for crazy judgements like done to the dude in video.

4. normies: and therefore he caused her and society irreparable damage equivalent to spending 14 years in prison.
Very crazy. But even crazier when you realize laws are not arbitrarily invented but based on existing biases people already have. So it should be more like:
1. humans worship women and hate men, idk why, no way of knowing really. This is the "ontological" part, they inherently see men as bad for existing and women as good for existing - hence "just exist mode/theory" meme about women. Notice even incels end up using ontological language, which is interesting.
2. this informs laws such as over-zealous protection laws to protect women from men, which are seen as inherently dangerous and threatening whatever they do. Men and women are like magnets, but men are repellent by nature, their existence is synonymous with harm, threat, danger, discomfort. The woman, especially young womans existence by contrast is taken to be the opposite. Inherently innocent, good, pure, chaste, non-sexual (because sex is seen as dirty and male)
3. laws are made based on the above saying sex with under 18yo girl is inherently bad for aforementioned "reasons" (which are just emotional biases as I laid out)
4. guy fucks teenage girl

Yeah I do feel like a lot of this was just... attacking him because he acts a bit awkward and is an easy target.
I also think it's a bit... random. Obviously they can't lock up everyone who has done something comparable to this because society would collapse. So it's like lightning strikes... it's random. And he just got unlucky.
