I used to think that the single most masculine thing you can do is beat another man to death with your bare fists. I used to think that this was the case- no exceptions. You could be a literal faggot, beat the shit out of a straight man, and the gay is still more masculine than the loser. Simple as that.
Now I realize that the context for that violence matters. In Will Smith's case, I can see how in his own mind it's like "there is nothing more masculine than defending your lady's honor." It's one thing to beat up a nigger because he raped the bitch, it's another thing to do it because an uppity wife was offended at a joke. You don't commit violence out of fear of not being seen as masculine by ungrateful poon. What makes violence masculine is shockwaves of fear it sends. The entire point is to flex POWER. To prove total DOMINANCE over others-- but if committed violence in a way that somehow makes the victim more powerful, that makes you look more like a puppet will no control over yourself, you have lost. Even if Will just straight up shot Chris Rock onstage, it would be unmasculine.
The victim of your violence matters A LOT. If you manage to make the victim a hero-- the violence becomes unmasculine. Rarely is this the case however. For example:
www.tmz.com
Burger King slapper is still masculine AS FUCK, because it seems like the victim is gonna have lifelong trauma from the incident. I can see how women would never want to sleep with him ever. Whereas Chris Rock's stock went up. The fact that he got slapped, and took it like a champ ROSE his SMV.

Customer Slaps Burger King Employee During Rant, Gets Charged
Burger King customer slaps employee on camera after racist rant.
