Since the Age of Discovery until the early 20th century, civilized men of intelligence who were capable of rational, revolutionary and never-seen thinking were able to achieve a great amount of social status and respect, influencing future like-minded men at the pursuit of knowledge and the improvement & understanding of the human condition. Something changed during the middle of the 20th century, when the recognition of people such as Durkheim, Schopenhauer, Nietzsche and even more mainstream philosophers like Kafka or Marx start to considerably decrease while the appreciation, praise and recognition of people like Hendrix, Elvis, Morrison and Lennon start to vastly increase; their thoughts, experiences and desires transmited by a microphone or a musical instrument reached fame nowhere seen or even ambitioned by their more intelectually elegant counterparts.
Keep in mind, this was almost 70 years ago.
Nowadays where more and more intelligent and rational men are not reproducing while plain genetically attractive (sometimes psychopathic and dark-triad) men are having a surplus of sexual achievement I've come to the conclusion that musically talented working-class men will become the intellectual elite sooner or later.
These men not only have the social capacities and sentimental endurance of genetically attractive men but also they display a decent and comparable amount of rationality, deep thinking and intelligence more similar to the thinkers from the past.
So in the next 20-30 years Eminem singing for the moment or XXXtentacion claiming that if he could act on revenge, he would will replace Kafka and his metamorphosis and Durkheim explaining the sociological method.
