They had the best possible entry into this war through belarus, where kyiv is only about 90 km from the border and that border was barely defended. And they still couldn't even account for fuel logistics. As usual, they lost.
From that offensive into Ukraine 2022 to now, mid 2026 they haven't accomplished anything significant. Instead they have had net lost territory since the start of 2026. Nothing that made ukraine even consider accepting a single lost piece of territory in a treaty
