it is an emotional cope. Think about it, for most of the people here everyday life is lonely, emotionless, empty and sad. When we go out to our jobs, at least those who are at that age, outside the real world life is cruel, you work like a slave just to pay the bills and put food on the table. People treat you like shit because all they care about is money, nobody considers you a real human being, you are nothing to them. In the same time you see a lot of people enjoying themselves and living life to the full. So after a hard and insane day of work you come home to an empty apartment and in order to fill that emptiness you fill it with entertainment, movies, video games, books etc. Anime is like an emotional drug, in those movies everything is perfect, the girls are an ideal representation of what a guy would want a girl to be. In reality of course they are not like that, if you are an inferior male, women would treat you with indifference and be cold towards you.

The actors/actresses used in dubs often do a sub-par job, and they often change dialogue dramtically or censor scenes.
You may find it grating initially but it grows on you.
I'd suggest if you can't get used to the pitch that you start out on some more serious anime like Golgo 13 or Monster which has less women talking, and they tend to be more realistic foids. Obviously cutesy harem girls will have a higher pitch.

It's cope. Some like to self-insert as the generic romance/harem protagonist, others pick up a waifu in the absence of real-life female interaction. For me, a big draw is the healing quality and escapism that you see in many shows. I find most slice-of-life shows to be relaxing. Non Non Biyori, Yuyushiki and Kiniro Mosaic are honourable mentions.

Humans females are flawed, anime is a projection of what men find attractive and ideal in a woman. The drawings are also made by ricecels all with different likes, so you get this banquet of girls available. Depending on how far you venture into waifuism you might just end up really falling in love with the character. I am so far down the rabbit hole that I feel happy looking into my waifus face, and looking at my figures and pillows. It is totally the opposite of real women, you can stare at them as much as you like, looking at the fine details of their bodies and outfits. They are also there for you always.
While I acknowledge that real women are used as voice actors, it is not a voluntary choice because electronic voice is still kind of raw and the sound samples for voice banks are taken from real women anyway. The only thing I think might work would be a man doing it and using voice changing software I don't know how good that would work though and it is twice the work (record and edit).
I've seen people on College campuses openly discuss anime who were definitively not autistic. You have a point in that autists are drawn to anime, but when you extrapolate to make it the sole sum of anime watchers you're wrong.
