The main reason why I empathize with ER is not his inceldom, while it does play a part, it isn't the most important to me. What hits the most is his battle loneliness, abandonment and injustice.
His early life was calm, he stated that his pre- teens were the best years in his life, where women weren't plagued with instincts yet and everyone was naive, but this was only temporary. As he grew up, Elliot faced rejection by his society, he attempted to learn skateboard to fit in with groups but never worked, by the end he was always ignored. His teen years were an absolute hell, he failed to make friends and experienced true bullying. Older kids would throw food at him and run away with his items, being hurled insults by others for his whole life, he never even did anything to provoke them. Elliot mentioned that he always thought how such people could be so mean to others, I had these same thoughts too, I saw how cruel people could be and it sickened me.
Elliot was forced into isolation after his failed attempts to socialize, mainly playing video games by himself. This is where I am going to explain Elliot's God complex, for those who haven't read his book and videos, he describes himself as the perfect human being and sometimes a God, at face value, it makes Elliot seem like a self- centered and delusional person, but you have to go deeper. When someone has no friends and community, they lack validation. The more Elliot was alone, the more he craved for validation, this is what lead him to becoming self- centered. He needed the validation and compliments himself, so that is why he began to call himself the perfect person, because he needed to stop the self- loathing, a cope essentially.
Elliot was effectively abandoned by his parents, his father divorced his mother and married another woman. Elliot would describe this new woman evil, she treats him like garbage and unwanted. When she knew about ER's problems and frustration, she even boasted about how his step- son is going to grow up successful and have no problem with woman. Too bad ER didn't murder this fuck.
The final point is his Day of Retribution, and why he stands out above so many people like him. Elliot planned to Day of Retribution to be an act of justice and revenge against the society that abandoned (A thread going into detail about it). Elliot saw the injustice of life, the bullying, the genetics, the loneliness and suffering, he saw it all. The only thing he could do in life was to avenge himself and the others who had fallen. This is why I consider him to be above alot of other incel figures, he took vengeance against the system that created it all.
