Venting Why does every movie have a love subplot

I don’t understand why every single movie in every single genre has to have a lot subplot. I just watched rango which is about a lizard moving into an animal western town and becoming sheriff and put in charge of finding more water for the town. Why the fuck does that need a love subplot? Why does he need to find a girlfriend in that movie? I also am currently watching the dictator. That movie is about Eritrea if it was a military dictatorship like North Korea and the dictator is kicked out of his country and is trying to stop a democracy from forming while in New York City. Why the fuck does a plot like that need a love interest? What point could that possibly have? Why does every fucking movie I try to watch to escape my shitty life have to remind me of the worst part of my shitty life? I don’t want to be constantly reminded that I am incapable of finding any love of any kind with a female.

I just watched the new minions movie and some foid falls in love with a random alien robot, who the minions are going to serve because he is evil enough. Basically the minions lost their last leader and now they have chosen him due to him espousing his plans of world domination etc etc

This robot was about to kill a kid before she approached him, and she saw he was about to kill a kid, but the angle was written so that she talked him out of it etc. She was also coming from a women's rights march

Then the robot gets charmed and started spouting feminist shit, basically foiling his plans after getting charmed. Then they have a bunch of romantic scenes etc

Anyways its just to rub it in our face and to appease the normies
