A lot of other first world countries don’t have this intense focus on only college, you literally learn nothing in high school. They barely taught me any math and only gave me short novels to read then they just drop you off to college like secondary education is completely inconsequential.

A high school degree is completely worthless when before it actually meant something.

Because higher education and colleges are a whole industry. Moreover, it is extremely profitable if higher education is paid in your country. In fact, you pay for college simply because many others have it and even in search of a job where college is not required (conditional Starbucks) most likely, they will hire a person with a college degree. In fact, it looks like an absurd hamster wheel race, when every year more and more people get higher education and even in a regular job you have to compete with people who have a college degree and you also have to go to college to get at least a regular job at Starbucks. In fact, this is a rat race, when higher education has undergone total inflation, but you have to go to college, otherwise you won't even get a regular job.
