I think it comes down to validation. A woman's power lies almost entirely in how desirable she is, so being worshiped is proof of that power. Even attention from men she does not want is still reassurance that she has value.

Also, I will add that you can see the same thing in nature. Take peafowl as an example: the males, or peacocks, compete by spreading their feathers, and the female, or peahen, decides which one gets to mate. The whole display is about proving worth and showing who can attract attention. Women operate in a similar way, measuring their value by how much interest they can command, even from men they would never choose.
Everyone loves worship but women behave as if they need it for their survival, which I doubt they do. They don't need to be sex goddesses to get a job, attract a decent mate and start a family. Women never needed to do this in the past and they turned out fine. Only in modern times do women wish to be adored with total slave-tier devotion from men. Its insane!
