I’ve always been curious why so many people online romanticize Eastern Europe so much, especially when they haven’t actually lived there.
I just don't understand why people find the region attractive, especially those that live here — the people are judgmental, drive recklessly (my country makes the top of road casualties in Europe, take a guess which Balkan shithole is that), the macho culture is dominant and it's full of stacies who will go in debt just to get plastic surgery to impress chads. Worst of, if you're neurodivergent, the society here will treat you like a third class citizen, just like how black people were treated back in the 60s.
I say this as someone who actually lived in Western Europe. I moved to the UK when I was 11, spent my childhood and teenage years there, graduated from university there, and worked there for two years after graduating. I later moved back to Bulgaria, but I’m currently applying for IT jobs because I’m planning to return.
The UK is definitely not perfect. It has problems with cost of living, housing, politics, migrants waiting to stab you, and many other things. But one thing I appreciated was that people generally minded their own business. As someone who is neurodivergent, I felt much more accepted there. There is more awareness, more support, and more understanding around autism and ADHD. There are also systems in place that can help neurodivergent people access support and workplace accommodations, such as neetbux. So if you're autistic and socially reclusive, you can at least get some money coming into your bank balance. Also, more job opportunities, plus UK is 69.9 million you have more chances of finding some autistic girl , who will get caught with your autistic ass as long as you have a stable income , house and can drive. I've seen so many sub5s , who eat Mcdonalds and are obese with good looking gfs in the UK
If you currently live in the west and are thinking of moving to a shithole like Bulgaria, don't even think about, especially if you are autistic sub5 like me. Can't wait to go back to the UK.
