I've never heard anyone say that most Chinese people are rich. Mayb the ones that leave the mainland for the west are usually rich coastal city/hong kong socialites?

Yes, China has undergone rapid economic/standard of living growth that hasn't been replicated since. 10k may not seem like much but people forget everything is cheaper in China, the average Chinaman doesn't live much worse than the average Amerimutt, and the Chinaman has a government that is in his interest. They also have actual industry, the West despite being richer is mostly composed of speculative value, not tangible value. This was seen with the Western sanctions on Russia which hurt the West more than Russia because Russia had what the West needed, not the other way around.
