just having crooked teeth will make it immensely more likely to have tooth decay and gum disease, you have to really work at it to keep your dental health if you have crooked teeth, constant flossing and oil pulling, average people don't bother.

Often the only British people you’d meet as an American were sailors making a short visit so the stereotype that all British people had bad teeth was born.

Having spent time in many countries, I haven’t noticed British teeth as notably worse than those in other countries. However, Europeans from med countries are noticeably better looking than Brits imo, especially in rural villages and small towns.
