I know its the golden standard for simps to do but even male streamers get hundred dollar donations. Why? 10 dollars isnt enough? You gotta donate 600 dollars to a guy playing a game? Is celebrity worship this bad that people donate 3-4 figures from their wageslave job to someone well-off?

Some of it initially could have been fake marketing hype to get people to think more people are donating than actually are imo.

Because people are gay as fuck now. Zoomers revere big streamers and would rather watch someone play a game. Don't ever think you can try it yourself though, its impossible to do streaming on any successful level unless you're a foid or super charismatic, chad.

Frankly why would you donate even a single dollar

They are either retards or very rich.

Waste of money tbh

This. I don't get this consoomer philosophy tbh. I prefer to live in nature far from all this social degeneracy.

JFL simping money to someone for any reason ever unless they provide you with asset value in return

Bigger the donation, bigger the shout out.

They feel they're a part of that community.

Cleveland steamer

A lot of them are probably just high earners. If you make 130k and don't have an expensive lifestyle, you litteraly won't notice a $600 dono and you get to make someone who's content you enjoy happy.

If I had money like that I'd just take up some semi-expensive hobby like tabletop or a real doll. Redditors and zoomers are like "THANK YOU SO MUCH ASMONGOLD FOR ALL THE LAUGHS AND TEARS, ITS BEEN A LONG RIDE."

Imagine being that much of an npc.

they want attention from foids but idk why they spend so much

Because mentally retarded or autistic people can be exploited for money if you know how to push their buttons. It is a talent of a kind.

If it's true it's beyond marketing, it's straight up manipulation or even possibly fraud (I'm not a lawyer though so I can't tell).

It's easy to believe, though. "monkey see, monkey do" is a real thing, and it's not too hard to imagine that corporations would exploit that. I mean, is it not true that donations on streams are made very, very ostensible on screen, with fancy bells and whistles and all, up to the point they even kind of disturb the normal flow of the content ? It's all so that people are reminded that they're supposed to give money.

It's not too hard to imagine that the plateforms create fake users and pay real donations from them (the users may be fake but donations must be real, otherwise the streamers would be in the know and one of them would blow the whistle).

It might just be an online version of the good old shell game at this point.

I don't think the wikipedia article mentions it, but a variant of the hustle involves accomplices who will pretend to lose money despite the shell being moved around slowly. A naive bystander would feel confident he can do better and would then place his own bet. Of course online streaming is different but if there are indeed fake donators then here too a naive observer is tricked into mimicking a fake spending behavior.

So many things these days are fraud and manipulation.
You could argue the media only running gossip and weird news stories instead of actual coverage on powerful people is like fraud and manipulation of the news.

That's my guess too. As cucked as people here say normie guys IRL are I know of no one who would ever consider donating to female streamers just to get attention or likes.

Some kind of mental illness.

There are millions of normies, how many do you know? Less than a dozen perhaps. Reddit alone has enough soys that probably contribute majority of the free income to female streamers.

True.

They do it on the downlow then or through semi anonymous sounding gamer/chat accounts on platforms like twitch.

I never understood why people like watching other people play a game. They could just play the games themselves.

I will never understand this. Why even donate one penny to someone or something that you gain nothing from?

Turns out there's a lot more people interested in other's lives than they would admit publicly imo.

They're mentally ill.

idiots to sum it up.
