Are you retarded? The Greeks gave us philosophy and politics, the Romans gave us architecture and law. The entire foundation of our law system comes from Romans, the entire basis of the scientific method comes from ancient Greeks. Thales, Archimedes etc etc all ancient scientists were from Greece or Greek-controlled colonies. Greek philosophy is the fundamental bedrock of all our political, social and moral axioms.

In fact, I daresay ancient Athens under Pericles was the single best epoch in entire human history. Nothing ever came close to ancient Greece in terms of intellectual nuance and sociopolitical sophistication.
