How I'd rank them. PS2>PS3>PS1>PS4>PS5. The PS2 is the best easily since it had the best games & the slim ones had backwards capability with PS1 games. The PS2 as well did not require huge updates or downloads to play games.
i'm pretty sure all the PS2 models can play PS1 games not just the slim
I only ever had a slim. It could play PS1 games. I don't know about the other ones though. I might re connect my old ps2 that I still have somewhere.

PS2 without a doubt even i PC only player was impressed by their games as a kid when i was visiting my friend we were playing Tekken and Kill Zone. Since then nothing on new consoles really impressed me as much, now Tekken is on PC and i no longer care and Killzone is dead. Such a sad fate of the Sony.

Yep the og/phat one can play PS1 games. PS2 had lots of great games and is an iconic home console.

This list is mostly on exclusives, but the tech of the PS2 and PS3 were sells at the time. I only ever owned PS2-4, but I gave the PS1 a higher ranking than the 3 out of respect for all the iconic games the PS1 produced.

The second one was just revolutionary for it's time hence why it's an absolute comercial success.
PS will never launch such a good console ever again.

Based purely off how good it seemed to me, for its time. It turned your TV into a gaming set-up that you could have days and days of fun with, for an accessible price. Just the natural next step in the evolution of all the great old atari and Sega consoles that had gone before.
PS3 was obviously 500% better in every measurable way... but it was an expensive major purchase for me then, and the menu structure was confusing, full of features I didn't understand and didn't want anyway. (I just wanted to sit at home by myself in peace and quiet and play the new generation version of games I had loved previously.) And the disc reader got unreliable after a while.
PS3 introduced me to Skyrim and I will always appreciate that. But it's also the console that drove me away from consoles to the PC master race.
