This is actually true, this kind of salary mogs regular doctors hard even in richer parts of EE. Only lucrative specialities like plastic surgery or stomatology will go above that.
Seriously? 8 pounds an hour is the minimum wage for over 21s. I worked with a polish electrician, an here he can make 700 pounds a week. In Poland an electrician would make 700 a month. I dunno I just assumed a doctor would be on a good wage just about anywhere in the world.

Public healthcare system can only pay its doctors as much as the government can take off people's paychecks. So a doctor's salary is in a way capped by what everyone else in the country is earning. An equivalent of 700 pounds net per month would be a salary of a pediatrician with 10+ years of experience in richer parts of EE. Most doctors cope by working extra hours in private clinics or by migrating west.
