Which European countries tend to show the highest SMV for Meds (Spaniards, Italians, etc.)? I've heard Eastern European and Balkan countries mentioned frequently in this context, but are there other regions where Meds experience a halo effect?

This primarily applies to Greece, given its location as both a Balkan and Mediterranean country. The Balkans and Mediterranean regions generally do not look very similar, although some Balkano-Anatolid types can also be seen in parts of Italy.

It just has a pseudo-resembelance due to them both adapting and evolving in similar geographic conditions.

But yes, Greece does have quite a bit of an overlap, and many there are a fusion of Dinaird & East Med, the latter of which has more of a "Balkan" look to it.

Some Italians also are Dinarids or Dinaricized-Meds or Dinaricized-Alpinids. Again, this is a situation of where both culture and also your specific phenotype come into play. It mainly means Gracile Mediterranid/West med, Atlanto-Med(Eurafricanid), etc. since those are the stereotyped "romantic" Latin/Med looks that also have a good blend of White/European features with a "darkness" to them.

If you have a Nordic/NW pheno like some in North Iberia or North Italy, you have the SMV of someone from there.

Alpinid pheno will be next to nothing since many central europeans and Slavs have that.

It mainly refers to the specific Med ones such as Gracile Med, Atlanto-Med, etc. or a Dinaricized version of one of these.

If you have one of the shared MENA phenos like some in Andalusia or South Italy have, such as Berid or Armenoid, I'd say it would still give the halo.
