Do you switch doors?

This is why I rarely make threads like this. I have to micromanage and explain everything.

Basically, if you want to die and have no problem with it, then replace the grim reaper with another version of something that's generally considered to be the ultimate bad outcome for you.

Dying generally sucks for most people, so I picked that instead of some abstract concept of infinitely bad. I could have easily said 2/3 doors have - ∞ behind them and the last door has + ∞ . Then everybody would have been like,

How about you give us the Monty Hall problem, but say that there are two landwhales and a Stacy behind the doors?

That would be simpler.

You're right. That would have been ridiculously simpler. Fuck. Simplicity is best, wtf am I doing?

I trust an incel would not stab a fellow incel in the back, so I'd believe you.

Wait, no. That wouldn't work. There's plenty of people who'd be happy with a landwhale. It's still not universally bad across the board.

What about there's a Stacy behind one door and nothing behind the others?

You'd still have that one volcel/fakecel/standardcel who would go "GigaStacy or nothing" or "Kate Upton is a 3/10", though.

No analogy is foolproof.

Clarification:

It doesn't have to be death or what I said about the grim reaper. That's just a placeholder. The point is to have some negative outcome option. Whatever you deem to be infinitely bad is 2/3 doors. The Terrachad option is just a placeholder for the infinitely good outcome.

The details don't really matter. They're meant to make the problem more concrete and have context, but with the Monty Hall twist. The point was to evaluate how people reason about the existential reality of their inceldom (not in great detail, mind you; I don't expect analysis and essays from respondents - sorry brocels), if given two outlandish possibilities. Most people evidently don't seem to care of the high chance that they can die, regardless of the alternative possibility.

I never cared about which door anyone would pick. I only ever cared about their reasons for picking and how they viewed the outcomes. That was the real experiment.
