Old school jrpg like final fantasy had some of the best sound tracks ever. They really put a lot of effort into it. suikoden 2 is my favorite game ever.
Resident Evil 1&2 original, Test Drive: Off Road 3, Fifa 99, NFS 1,2,3 and Carbon.
Mgs games and metal gear games have great soundtracks also gta vice city and vice city stories
