Hell beat me to it but temp/ staffing agencies are the best way. Everytime I've used one I get a job on the spot or within a week at most.
@op if you're young I suggest to skillmax for now. better to start a job with good pay and a future than starting a random job you don't like and wasting your time

If you're a man you can't get a job (that isn't low paying hard manual labor) without a close contact that can get you in.
This. Employment agencies will get you a job right away, on the spot. Most are crappy jobs but if you're that desperate then beggars cant be choosers.
