This is true in all areas. Life advice, career advice, physical health advice.

I’ll give some personal examples.

I’ve, I’ve been trying to find a job, so I visited a subreddit that is for finding a job in my desired field. Almost every post was about how impossible it was to find a job.

I looked up the statistics and it said 85% of the people that graduate with my degree find a relevant job within 1 year.

I was looking for advice on how to get leaner and the most upvoted posts I saw said it was impossible without having an unrealistically strict diet. I looked it up, and the leanness I wanted to achieve was actually very achievable.


This site is also an echo chamber. However, you won’t get downvoted to hell for having an unpopular opinion. The karma system makes Reddit a bigger echo chamber than this site.
