What's the point of playing MOBAs like Dota 2, League of Legends?

Online games(competitive games especially) are easy to boot up and play when you have low motivation levels in life but they don't give that feeling of satisfaction which the singleplayer games do. They are stressful and you only feel something when you are playing them. They just can't scratch that itch. You would want to play them just a minute after you rage quit them. It's like you are chasing something which you would never attain.

They are fun if you want to have pretty varied and unexpected matches every time you press play. Public matches are more fun as people like to experiment and not be metaslaves. But it's only the case for dota, for lol non-ranked = ranked anyway as you have stiff roles and hidden mmr. Dota 2 even has multiple mods that you can play in MM.
