I think 21 is about the age when people start to look down on you for having achieved nothing or very little this is the age when you’re expected to have moved out by now rather you went to college or not you should have made a decent amount of progress by this point now

I would say 25.

Well define "life together" though. When I was 17 one of my parent's work collogues came up to me like "why don't you have a job? Why don't you have a girlfriend? I was in shock when I know the proper thing to do would have been to beat his face. I had a hard time growing up and basically shut down for years- a not uncommon life path. Felt like a ghost in my own hometown from about 17 on- and I know everybody talks so ya its about my lack of progress. If you're a man, no one wants another cock in the stew they only care if you are in a position where they can benefit from being nice/befriending you.

I mean being 100% self sufficient let’s be real most people aren’t self sufficient at 18

In my view this is not possible unless you live in a cabin in the woods. The most successful people are experts at managing relationships and networking. It's one of the main reasons why being ugly/short is such a hinderance. This is really what I would focus on as people instinctively know that someone with a good social network will land on their feet and climb higher.

I don't want to get into an argument here, but money is only a tool and a way of keeping score if you would. It's a currency of relationships, which are a currency in and of themselves. In my first full time job I broke my back and went home exhausted everyday for basically minimum wage. It was enough to be "independent" but I couldn't do much more than work. Relationships are what matters and the opportunities that arise through them because it's others that hold the keys. People know this instinctively.

I think 25 max
