That Sam Altman and other AI projects bought up 40% of world's RAM, not to utilize it fully but to hoard them up to prevent competitors' advantage. In the process of doing so, they screwed up critical supply for not just gamers, but also mobile phones and anything involving memory.

Hmm..that just got me thinking. If companies can do that on such a critical industry, what is stopping them from doing the same thing on food?

Some mega richfags starting a soylent company can simply buy up all the food crops and raw ingrediments, drive up the food price to deny competitors' advantage, then force you to eat their slop by perhaps undercutting the market and selling relatievly cheap.

there would be riots everywhere

Don't give them ideas :shhh:

Good point, but growing food depends a lot on the weather.

What's stopping companies from hiring someone to set neighbourhoods on fire, erasing all the food, or flying a plane seeding poison onto the soil, then claim it was an accident?

We see that whistleblowers die in suspcious conditions, so this is not out of the question.

You should have bought stock in sandisk.

They did the same thing during the plandemic when commodity prices soared. This also happened in Asia in the late 90s and 2008. Investors move their investment to surging commodities while the rest of the market falls.

The fear of attacking food goes back to the 70s with soylent green. Unfortunately for me, I've given up caring. When the starvation comes, let the slaughter begin.

Lawsuits, and there is a good chance that someone will end up with a bullet in their head + people come very desperate when they risk starving.

They can't risk people actually starving. A full stomach does not rebell, so they will keep people sedated with cheap enough food, vidya, sportsball and maybe prostitution.

RAM and various computer parts are only made by a few companies, food would be completely different.

This is one area where Trump has the right idea with tariffs because relying on a few Chink companies leads to these situations.

They already did

Bill Gates is the number 1 farmland owner in the USA iirc.

The government is doing this right now in France. There's big riots from farmers but you will not see this in MainStream Media.
The gov sent the military police and the army to kill the farmers' animals.

I don't have twitter but if you have it, try to look up up words like "Ariège" "CRS" "dermatose" or "agriculteurs"
Here one link someone sent me, army helicopter throw gas over farmers who protest against the gov genociding their cows:

I don't have any social media but you can look it up if you have.
I will try to find some other things.

most food by value is owned by a handful of conglomerates and companies

theyve been raising the price slowly

Thankfully, AI data centres are powered by RAM, not food.

The US definitely needs to develop a domestic industry for this shit, relying almost solely on China, South Korea and Taiwan is less than ideal and a losing strategy, however I feel like the tariffs are taking things from 0 to 100 and there's a better way to achieve this effect than putting the economy in shock therapy essentially.

Would be much harder since food cannot be monopolized or prevented in any shape or form. Plus, it would be illegal mostly.
