What era or time in your life do you look back on and feel that was the best time in your life? Or that you miss the most?
I'd personally have to say it was my time in middle school, between 10-14. Afterwards teenage years started to be brutal. But those years before were the best. School would usually finish around 1pm here in Germany, so I'd rush home to watch anime and play Legos all day. This was during the 2000s, so if I wasn't watching Fullmetal Alchemist, Trigun, Pokémon, Digimon or Detective Conan, I was playing Pokémon on GBC or FS95, Fallout 2 or Starcraft on the family PC. That combined with hours and hours of playing Legos as well. Given that I was really socially awkward with a horrible case of ADHD, I didn't have any real friends but I didn't care for it, either. Not until I became more self conscious.
Perhaps the most innocent fun I had was saving my allowance, taking the bike to the riverside on the weekend and visiting the local flea market to browse for old Gameboy games. Back then, retro gaming wasn't really a thing yet so buying old games for 2-10€ was standard. Most were shit. But it was a nice hobby to have in my pre-teen years.
Sometimes when I'm at work, I'll listen to Unreal Tournament DnB mix videos and feel really nostalgic for those 2000s years where I'd be excited to see what the next Trigun episode was. I really miss the innocence and curiosity I had in those years
