Self respect comes into play when you interact with others. For example, when a foid dismisses you, ignores, flakes or stands you up do you cut her out of your life or start simping. Self respect is basically how much you stand up for yourself in detrimental situations.

I don't think so simpliciter. I think that if one is a weirdo, being self-respecting is even counterproductive to getting laid. It'd be like doubling down on one's eccentricity.
