Tbh I don't buy this. I mean to be fair I can understand the first claim, but I'm just extremely skeptical of it (see what happened to Japan shortly after a similar claim was made).

As for atheism overtaking both Christianity and Islam, that's just ridiculous. At best you'll see the global percentage slightly increase, but that's it. However I could argue that people affiliating themselves with Christianity in particular is meaningless when they don't take it seriously, and the religion has basically no cultural authority or significance remaining. On the other hand though, I could easily claim that most "atheists" aren't even atheists at all, considering they often subscribe to a very similar sort of reasoning as theists, only replacing God with nature, "progress", and secular humanism.
