There's no such thing as a real self most of our core thoughts, feelings and experiences are manipulated. The human "consciousness" is always being bothered by the brain to make you in the simplest example be hungry and how it changes your being or how we literally have status meters in our brain that make you experience more positive emotion. We are all motivated by the core things that make us an evolved chimp but we don't like admitting it because we are kinda in the middle of an Ascension into the ideal which is the bluepill or something peaceful of the sort like religion which is the og bluepill

Maybe a cliche, but actions, I suppose? I'd say thoughts are also, but sometimes people act differently in comparison to their thoughts. I hate people in general, but can't say it is all of them bad. Some even did maybe little but something good to me. But it's hard to say, idk if there is a person who truly knows who he is. Let alone be able to define who another one is
There is no such thing as character. Everyone on this planet who ever came to be and those who are yet to come are all NPCs. The only true character is that of the individual or set of individuals who are observing this NPC clownworld from the beyond.

The only time people reveal their true selves is when they know there will be no consequences for their actions.
Great Achievements and Philosophical insights imo are the best signs of true virture.
