Base game Serena just uses you as an emotional tampon for as long as you're willing to put up with it.

I used to have nothing but contempt for gamers that simped for that character... but the game is all about escapism to a high fantasy paradise with wizards and elves and shit. Having a girlfriend simulator DLC within it just allows me to add some comfy feels to my escapism. It's not like anyone is ever going to tell me they like me and appreciate me in real life.
