" in the past Banias including Jains have been considered as Aryans because of the linguistic grouping and their higher financial social status... "

"Here we see that Banias despite their larger average nasal-index, which is larger than Dravidian groups of Vellala and Tamil Brahmins have been classified as sub-leptorrhine & indo-Aryans in this early 20th-century study of nasal indices. This seems to be a motivated classification to push Banias into the Aryan category."

Another form of bleach coping.

Also the Jainism aspect of this is interesting. Many Jains are dravidian, however many of their Tirthankara's, who's idols they worship are clearly Aryan (Central Asian) looking (at least in my opinion, if anyone thinks they may be of a different ethnicity you can share):

(Also, I think the reddit poster mistyped because the haplogroup of the Aryan's was R1a not R1b.)

What is it with people these days and haplogroup bullshit? Everyone’s desperately trying to cling to some ancestral identity.

Because culture and ancestry are partly intertwined. Also, ppl are trying to cope with not being Jews in the world which is coming.

Yeah, as if some 50 thousand year old haplogroup really tells you anything about who you are. Besides that, it's a tiny piece of our dna.
