i live in the eu and new chat control laws have just been passed, they say its to "protect children" but thats hypocritical why dont you protect children when they are dying in other countries?
the majority of members of the european parliament actually voted against these laws but they were still passed due to a technicality
the laws that were passed already are mildly more invasive than before but they are negotiating for even more strict laws
my point is why are we (the general population) not in power of choosing our own laws?
the answer is because the "people" in power want to stay in power and remain rich while holding everyone else down, so they split the population (right-/ leftleaning; black/white/brown; lgbtq/normal) and make laws to protect themselves and at the same time oppress less fortunate citizens
when higher ups act upon things (money/power/favor a group of people) other than all citizens, the people HAVE TO take back power immediately and KILL everyone that supports a corrupt government or they will fall into a spiral of slavery like it is in Germany or in the US
society is fucked and if we dont get our shit together as a people, the rich crackas and niggas will keep taking advantage of the general population
