Uh, no. That's exactly what it means. If it didn't mean freedom from consequences, everyone had free speech under Hitler and Stalin as well. You could say anything you wanted to. There would just be consequences if they didn't like it.

The reality is that we simply don't have free speech, and we never did. There has never been any such thing.

The concept of free speech is the most overrated thing globohomo has created. In liberal democracies people can give their opinion more freely because most opinions are useless once you have a system with the illusion of justice, if opinions were worth a penny they would be illegal.

Wealthy Singapur citizens should be jealous of those working in coal mines in so called democratic countries? I don't think so.

The only thing that matters is doing the objective right things to get the best results, not letting everybody give their shitty, uninformed take on every subject they can think of.
