I don't know how to describe it but it's a wonder. I remember going to rock & roll gigs as the internet had just come out. The rock & roll was so much more important.

Buying the NME every week was important.

I don't know how to describe it.

There was no internet on a day-to-day basis and it was OK.

Because we had TV? That's what I had before I had Internet. It was always some kinda broadcast media I depended on.

Yeah TV was good but it never broadcast the rock & roll music I lived for.

first time i've experienced internet around 2009-2010, i was mindblown

yeah i mostly agree with you that no one gave a fuck about the internet in 2001 or whatever.

but guess what, i have at least one really weird anecdote.
in my class around 7th grade these girls played a game where they would write on the board, and write messages as if they were texting each other. they would look at each other's side of the board but write only on their side, to "continue the conversation" and I think they used some rudimentary text speak already.
these 'retard geniuses' were literally predicting how important texting and chat apps would be, and practicing it like a skill :lul:
never underestimate whores is all I'll say, they knew how big the internet would become, especially to secure chad. :lul:
