yeah, if companies are anything like what I've seen... they're like...
1. too many bosses and managers sucking up most of the money, they will never share their power or prosperity under any circumstance. there's already too many so you won't ascend to their position even if hypercompetent.
2. some overworked guys doing 3 jobs at once for the company and being 24/7 on call, NEVER properly appreciated or compensated by the former.
3. a bunch of hanger-ons doing little work, this is where most of the women and diversity hires go. practically useless and carried by the former.
some new guy coming in doesn't fit into either three of these. he's not in the special club like 1, hypercompetent right out of college like 2, diverse like 3
he's going to have to sweat massively to get anywhere, like someone trying to date a normal girl in 2020
