I was in UK some years back . At the time costs were okay but now I am constantly seeing posts on different platforms about the terrible and rising cost of living there.

Theses are internet posts so I am now curious and want to ask UK cels what is happening there? Are things really getting out of hand at the moment? Is it still possible to buy copes ?

Its like this in all of western europe and europe in general too.

It is rising at the moment. If you have money, then yes, you can buy copes. Like in any country. Doesn't mean we are living like starving Ethiopians dying on the streets. I have gigabit internet connection, a ps5, a PC, food. Am neet right now, but up until January was working in IT for past 7 years.

I am asking about Uk . North Europe on the continent things have some what stabilised and alot of government aide packages for workers so things are now okay(ish). The South was always shaky even before 2015 already. But it seems UK is just getting hit real hard, dunno though because I am just seeing these posts.

Okayish

Minimum wage is about £1500/month after tax (Older then 21 years)

Rent = £600 - £900 in decent area
Council tax = £120 - £150 per month
Car tax = £165/year unless you get one before 2017 with lower tax
£1.50 per liter for petrol ($5.67 per US Gallon for burger)
Insurance = £75/month for car

Bills including food can cost £200 if you spend wisely

Sounds sweet if you get neetbuxx? I know its just a few quid a week from Jobceneter but at least rent is paid?

Used car prices is shit rn, you'd be paying £5k for shitty car older then 10 years, cheaper to buy new or import

Yes, currently living on some savings + neetbux from jobcentre. Eventually I'll have to go back to work, but if i had the choice I'd neet forever.

welfare is pretty dead, you might get £60 per month, rent not payed unless council house which has 10 year waiting list for single men btw

I have seen in my area recently that people on welfare have to do community service kek

Hmmm thats hardcore tbh for minimum wage cels

600 rent + 120 council tax + 200 bills/food = 920 total with no car

but still public transport costs way over 100 quid so total = 1050 a month for the shittiest apartments and food

So a tenant renting a house or flat from a private landlord will not get their rent paid by the Jobcenter?

In my area you'd have to pay £1235 and that is without car

Best for you to get a gf and split bills

but your rent is paid by the state ? Are you renting from a private landlord or council?

Cost are rising but it's overblown on media like 99% of things
As UK speaks english the media shows more, france and germany isn't much better tbh

brocel thats brutal tbh. How are young people supposed to live when they just starting out? It takes time to earn more based on work experience, so untill 35 years of age most people are on rock bottom.

Over if you dont live with parents

Oh no, im 25 and still living with parents jfl. But they make me pay some rent. If I was on my own I'd be stuck in some dinky flat somewhere by myself (if I had a gf then would be easier ofc).

Same my parents charge me too:feelsrope:

I live off Universal Credit (Government Money for looking for work) and Parents pension.

The amount of food from the food budget in the weekly shop is less and less each time due to inflation

so at least your basic costs are covered by the Jobcenter. Still WAY better off than even most Europeans like Italy, Spain, Poland etc

just sell some weed on the side for pocket money theory and you sorted.

True, yh for all of bonglands problems, compared to most places a good amount of welfare is available to most. Ofc some abuse it, like those chav families on council estates that pop out 10 kids for more money lol

Honestly I would only give benefits to people with disability or mental problems

I would allow people to used benefitts for 1 year max before they have to get a job

Yes haha, and if the ad has any families in it, you can bet they will be mixed race too

I'm on NEETbux, pay rent to parents and buy food and I'm left with £40 max.

Nah Chav was a purely poor white Brit thing now that roadman, drill stuff seems like big city white Brit gangster culture mixed with Jamaican patwa which kids use to try seem gangster ending up stabbing each other. At least Chavs were just living a poverty life style but that drill rubbish is just turning kids into gangsters stabbing each other over a postcode, But thats probably big city Brit/Jamaican gangster foolishness I guess thats why people do what they can to move away and I dont blame them tbh.

10 Pound a week for copes.

How do pay for copes? Or do you just buy cheap energy drinks and Strongbow?

I'm unable to get drunk from beer or cider anymore so I buy cheap wine. I pay for a gamepass subscription too, I only buy games when they are on sale.
