That might just be it. The 'Socialism in one country' idea doesn't work, as was proved by the USSR and later China when it abandoned the main line of socialist economic development (by allowing a billionaire class to arise) There would need to be an international simultaneous socialist revolution that completely and totally obliterated the capitalist system and the survivals of feudalism in one blow. But those conditions are impossible. If we could 'force' those conditions then there is reason to believe that an (inter)nationalist socialist government would work.Too bad national socialist governments tend to have short shelf lives

The answer is what Biden is doing with New Deal 2.0. You keep the wide open free markets, free enterprise, competition and free trade.. but you also use the printing press to fund social spending and do some regulations changes like higher minimum wage and favoring unions.. to make the money more widely distributed to everybody.
This way even someone who is working poor, they get a higher minimum wage, negative income tax, more health care subsidies, rent subsidies, cheaper bus passes and on and on. So year by year by adding programs and making them more generous that person is better off, even if they aren't that good at capitalism.
That also gets cold hard cash to everybody each month which makes it so businesses have customers... which gives opportunity and makes it easier to make money.
What funds this is the free market capitalism it gets ever more productive through time. Like in a war how countries make rapid progress in technology as they are competing.
