I have no idea why Trump should care about the attitude of some Asian countries towards the United States. This man ran for office as an isolationist and a paleoconservative. Any old-school conservative in the United States should not care about what happens outside of the Americas, as this has been the United States' sphere of influence since the early 19th century. There is no conflict between the United States and China. If you look at the trade volume between China and the United States, you will see that there is no confrontation.

Plus, I don't see any tragedy for the United States. The Chinese are extremely practical people, and they will never forgive you for your debt. Other players will make moves while you stagnate. Some countries are already considering the yuan for trade instead of the petrodollar for example.
Even Europe is growing apprehensive towards America now. They will never ally with China, but I can see them being neutral.
