i tried to apply for PIP a few minutes ago over the phone, and the guy on the other end was speaking in a very thick accent. i could not for the absolute life of me understand the shit that was coming out his gob. he spoke english, but the accent was too thick. of course, i couldn't tell him...

it went ok, they asked me questions about support networks, physical and mental health and some other crap.

they said they would call me back to discuss some other shit, but they didn't.

2 guys who worked for the homeless thing gave me their numbers (no homo) in case i have anymore questions.

Okay. If you get PIP you'll automatically get unfit for work benefit. PIP form is long. Take your time and do a section everyday.

In each PIP section you have to explain how the health condition effects your daily living. You can say things like "twice a day I have anxiety attacks and can't cook a meal when I have them. I can't even open the fridge door".

You'll need to send them your prescription too or any evidence you might have from your probation officer about your condition. I filled a PIP form for someone I know. Unfortunately he was sectioned again yesterday for trying to kill himself. He ran off and police helicopter was called and tracked him down. He had a bat in hand going round trying to get money from people on the street to buy crack cocaine and ketamine. He had been clean for 3 years.

If you become homeless make sure you keep your documents safe. Other homeless will try to steal them and then the authorities can't help. So make sure your passport or diving licence and things like that are kept in a zipped pocket. Remember your NI number too.
