Zelensky admitted that they can no longer go on the offensive due to heavy loss of soldiers. Kursk was strategically a waste of resources. It was never going to succeed. Ukraine basically did what the Germans did 80 years ago, and was defeated just how they were especially considering they had a literal armored spearhead leading the assault against Russian Conscripts before they could bring more reinforcements.

Once that happened, the gains became sporadic and there was no way for Ukrainians to turn the tide. They tried this again in Belgorod but were promptly crushed without being able to make any proper incursions.
