Reddit creates a illusion of freedom to create subreddits, but once it gets big enough external moderators are forced upon a subreddit due to almost impossible standards set for subreddits of certain size, these are often a super mod.

This super mods moderates several subreddits forcing there politics and world views, all under the ilusion of being chosen by the users. I never take any redditor calling other sites echo chambers seriously, they are throwing stones in glass houses.
