What is the Voice?
It is often a whisper, and sometimes a shout.
It's all the conscious thoughts we talk about.
The Voice is a hand up,
And sadly too often a kick down.
It's shared in the helpless unheard cries,
And spreads through our own devious lies.
It is my mind meeting yours,
In tones both kind and otherwise.
It is what's said and more often left unsaid,
Yet understood all the same.
The Voice is inside you and me,
and creatures great and small.
It moves between the trees so tall,
and all through the land, among all that walks or crawls.
What is the Voice, if not you and me,
Whispering together, and finally free.
