Part One: The New Arrival
Greetings, curious readers from the past, present, and future, both human and otherwise. Call me Johnny, and I'm here to share a highly unusual experience. A strange visitation, something highly extraordinary that recently happened to me.

I cannot claim it was an astral experience or any type of dream, because I possessed a physical version of my own body. Also, unlike lucid dreaming, I touched perfectly detailed textures as well as interacted with everything that I could or wanted, possessing full clarity and awareness the entire time. Call it what you will, stepping outside of the simulation (for those that believe in such things) or an astral yet physical visitation to our Earth in some very far-flung human future timeline. My only purpose is to accurately describe this event honestly, but not to convince you that it did indeed happen. I leave that up to you as curious readers to decide, and frankly I don't care either way. Believe it, or don't, but It did occur.

The fact is that it really happened is not up for debate for me, it did, and it affected me so powerfully that every memorized detail I will forever recall.

One recent lazy morning I was reclining on my comfy couch with the TV blaring, and suddenly I was somehow no longer there in my own living room.

My TV was not in front of me, nor was my couch underneath me. I was standing, and looking down, and I seemed to have my own body. Oddly enough I was dressed in my real-life ankle length black trench coat, which I've owned for over 15 years. I suppose this coat is embedded in my soul now, wherever I drift in life, either physically or spiritually, i'll always be wearing this particular coat. I will undoubtedly be buried in it when my time comes.

I started looking around at my surroundings, which definitely did not match my living room. This was no residence of mine, but a long and wide hall, such as those that one would commonly see throughout various large high-schools across the USA. I say that because I've never been to a high-school outside of my own country. So I color my descriptions here as something an actual american would use.

There were other people all around me, walking in both directions down this hallway. If this was some type of school, which was the impression I had, it was for every possible age. Many races and ages were there, wearing lots of varieties and types of clothing, and all of them seemed somehow busy. I heard some of them speaking, almost like a background murmuring, words on a level that was on the periphery of my hearing. I didn't understand exactly what they were saying though. They didn't seem to be speaking any one particular language, but I had the impression it was some unusual mishmash of many languages, somehow consolidated into one universally shared one, which sadly enough I couldn't understand. Not from lack of trying or interest I assure you, since as a natural explorer I was instantly fascinated.

Where was I, why was I even here, and what was I supposed to be doing here exactly? Not knowing any of this, I duly followed my natural inclinations.

I started looking and really seeing, reigniting my childlike sense of wonder, something adults seem to often tragically lose. I decided that if I could see and explore everything here that's exactly what I intended do, for as long as I had the privilege of being able to do it.

I started passing others on every side, as I was curious to see more of this reality, suspecting I couldn't stay for long. Some seemed to look at me strangely passing my by, and a few seemed to laugh (mainly the younger ones), but none got in my way. Along both sides of this hallway there were doorways, and peeking in one, I saw what looked like a common classroom environment, but with long low benches, not desks. A seemingly simple effective design. I have no doubt during classes (if that's what these were actually used for) these rooms would be packed.

All over the hallway walls were written what looked like many different names, but I wasn't sure that's what they actually were. There were some recognizable english letters, mixed in with symbols which I didn't recognize. The letters appeared chalk-like, and I extended my finger to feel it. However, it wasn't chalk, and it didn't rub off. Apparently these names were somehow digital, designed to look like chalk, but couldn't be removed or smeared by mere touch. Things here were made to appear simplistic, and comfortably presented, but nothing here would be really simple. Of this I had a profound suspicion.

There were people passing me in both directions, this seemed a very busy place. Also seemingly randomly scattered were some old-timey hand weapons hanging along the walls via hooks. I didn't notice any guns, but maces, axes, daggers and a number of different styled swords from many eras were hung there. These weren't locked behind glass, but freely available to touch and pick up.

Reaching out I carefully grabbed a small hand axe just out of curiosity, expecting to hear an objecting voice, but not a peep.

I even watched as someone walked by me carrying a weapon of his own. Since I couldn't understand the language, I had to go by my own impressions, which are usually highly-accurate. I have natural instincts in such unusual situations. My impression was that these were actual teaching tools, and there was no chance of violence in this place. So these weapons were freely displayed and available to be held, perhaps for a better learning experience? Replacing the axe, I continued down the hall.

I walked towards the far end where the hall turned left. I could see a very large open rectangular window there, though I noticed no actual glass. There was a lot of daylight coming in, even though the hallway behind me wasn't dark in any sense of the word. I came to a long black table directly under the window, perhaps the height of a standard coffee table. Sitting at one side was a woman with long dark hair, wearing a brightly-colored earthy-type dress. With a simple gesture she beckoned me to sit on a matching black chair, which I immediately did. She said a few words which of course I couldn't translate, as she gestured with a smile towards various small objects on the table before me.

They appeared to be different shapes, and looked like they could be made of plastic and various other cheap-looking materials. I picked up one, it reminded me of some strange sort of clock. The bottom half was a slim square hollow frame with a solid upper piece. The object was smaller than my fist, and could have been anything from a clock to a tiny handheld doomsday device, I didn't have a clue. I picked it up, and it was so smooth I felt no seams. Playing with it a little, it weighed almost nothing. The top piece was a solid box within the hollow frame. I saw no screen, no buttons, and no display area. I ran my fingers over it, expecting nothing, but still highly curious. I heard a few low beeps, and the object started a weird vibration while the beeps continued. No light came on, but I could hear a hum sound as the vibration intensified. I still hadn't a single clue what this object was, or what function it served. As I replaced it back on the table, the vibration and hum stopped immediately. Whatever function it served was well-beyond my understanding.

The woman that invited me to sit was watching my reactions, and subtly nodded, while she pointed at another highly unusual object. This looked black and silver, and resembled a cylinder-shaped handle, shaped to be held I suppose. The bottom(handle part) was a silvery color, with a small bright green led light on it. The top of the handle was all black, and looked like a rubbery material, but compacted into overlapping folds. It felt extremely lightweight as I picked it up. Seeing no buttons I put my fingertip over the tiny green light to see if it was some sort of odd control mechanism. The light changed to red, and I felt the device start moving,

As I held this "handle", the red light stayed on, and the black rubbery-looking top section started slowly stretching out, like an extending rod, and the folds I perceived started straightening themselves and the length of the device continued. Think Pinocchio's nose effect, except no lies were being told. The device strangely kept getting longer in my hand as I watched.

I pointed it up and away so the far lengthening end wouldn't hit any passing folks as it kept getting longer. It quickly got so long, I pointed it towards the window that was across from me. I had no idea how to stop this device, which got to about eight feet long before I got worried. If this was some sort of toy blade made of rubber, it seemed harmless, but how long would this crazy device actually get?

The top was now reaching through the window, and still growing. It reminded me of a long toy-style blade, but soft. It seemed like a thick black extending sword if made by the nerf company. I wondered if this thing keep would keep expanding forever?

This question and my confusion must have been apparent on my face, because the watching woman reached over to my hand, and put her finger over the red light, which now turned to green again, and the device immediately started retracting. The top part started piling up into rubber folds again. She nodded at me as I put the device back on the table, which was now the original size again.

I realized that I could examine these various devices on that table for the next few decades, and never understand their functions at all. This unique technology was well-beyond my ken. So I nodded back to her, giving a slight hand wave hoping this was understood as a grateful gesture at least. It was time to see more of this place as long as I was still here. The brightness outside the windows again stoked my curiosity. It was time to step outside, if I could. I wondered how common was it for visitors like myself to appear here, since no one seemed surprised at my presence.

So rising from my seat, I was certainly ready to go see and discover more.

Part Two: A Utopian Earth?

As I stood up, the mysterious yet slightly mischievous woman gave a subtle smile and waved me off, as if saying, "go enjoy yourself". That's the impression I got from her simple gesture. I suppose languages come and go throughout history, but many gestures seem universally understood, perhaps throughout all times and places?

Leaving the table and its mysterious devices behind, I strode to the next window, looking for a way into the much brighter outside world. Upon my arrival, I saw this wasn't a mere window, but an open rectangular entryway, and there was no actual door. The bottom was flush with the floor, and a short ramp led at a slight angle out and downward. I stepped through the opening into the light, fully ready to see more of this wondrously enigmatic place.

Stepping outside for the first time, it was a bit too bright. After a moment, my eyes seemed to adjust (dreams are never this realistic, not even in the many lucid dreams I've had over the years). There was a vast greyish walkway directly in front of me, wide and long. It almost resembled concrete, except it retained a slight glitter. As my foot touched down on it with my weight, it seemed to have some slight 'give' to it, as if it weren't hard like concrete at all, but somewhat soft. Unlike the concrete I knew, it seemed very comfortable to walk on. Built for comfort and perfect usefulness equally. I bent down, and I felt a softness, almost like some sort of rug. Whatever mysterious material this was, it had no real connection to concrete besides the color and utility.

There were people walking in both directions on the walkway, all dressed differently. Apparently there were no popular fashions here, no common look, and endless variety seemed the order of the day in this unique place.

I saw people wearing various hats and hairstyles that looked like they were from many different eras walking past. There were outfits of every color, kind and style. It seems that people wore what they liked, and popular looks didn't seem to exist. In my considered opinion, that's worthy social progress.

Wanting to see the full picture I made my way straight across to a silver railing to perhaps look down and see what lie underneath this walkway. Even before I got to the edge of the railing, I was utterly astounded by the sight in front of me, the image of my home, Earth.

Somehow, we were far above it, but angled in such a way that my home planet took up most of the skyline above, and yet we didn't fall. My feet remained solidly on the walkway.

But there in the distance was my home planet, as I've only ever seen it in movies, shows and nasa pictures. Earth was blue, white, and spectacular! It floated almost directly above me, massive and inspiring. I was in awe, and for a moment I merely stood there, drinking in this amazing sight.

After a moment of awed study, I looked down beneath the walkway I was standing on. In the distance there seemed a golden field, and a woman stood there in the field, facing away from me. She seemed to be wearing a similar style earthy-type dress as the women I met before. I also noticed her long black hair, and her arms appeared fully stretched out, with her face pointed up at Earth. This might be either a cosmic welcome, or a moment of worship, I couldn't tell. Perhaps it was both?

It appeared a daytime Earth, brightly colorful and as beautiful as any planet can get. With all this in my vision, I was humbled, which is not an easy thing to do.

So this seemed some sort of orbiting platform, but flat and vast! Whatever place this was, it was far beyond what present mankind could do. This was no mere space platform/station. This seemed more organic. The people I observed seemed like a community, not just travellers. Whatever was happening, I wasnt in the loop, but a mere visitor. From what I was seeing, this seemed a community I'd very much want to join permanently.

The air tasted fresh, like clean high-mountain regions do. Yes, I suspect our position was high indeed!

Everything was clean and bright, and people actually looked animated and happy. I saw not a single example of misery in all of my sight.

Looking down, it seemed a fascinating place. I noticed a smaller golden field, like a square patch, and much closer to me. At the head of this small patch of field, I noticed something I couldn't really identify, and quite beyond my present understanding. Squatting there alone was an unusual creature, unlike anything i've ever seen. At first glance, it almost resembled a large golden ball, but it was fluidly mobile.

As I watched, it rolled out into the golden field when someone got too close to the edge. So it seemed to exist to keep folks from walking across this golden area. Everyone walked around it. It would roll out in the middle, and somehow this living ball would unfold golden limbs that were hidden away. It made a strange honking noise while waving its limbs directly at those passing by. Finished with its warning (if that's what it actually was) it deftly folded its limbs back into itself, and rolled back to its starting area, which looked like a small rock formation/cubby hole at the other end of the field. Its apparent "home". I watched the creature, still yet unsure what it really was or why it even mattered, but its presence felt deliberate in that place. There was a method behind all this madness surrounding me.

What if madness is simply higher on the evolutionary chain than most of the so-called rational among us?

I still wasn't sure if this was a living creature, or some artificial creation, but I decided to keep my distance regardless. Also below the walkway seemed a scattered collection of various tables and display surfaces. They had pathways slyly situated between them all, so that every table could be easily interacted with.

It was time to find a way off this walkway, so I could get a better idea of what this place was from below. Looking over, I saw a curved path directly connected at an angle to what I was standing on. So far I deduced whomever/whatever designed this place was not a fan of actual stairs, since I haven't seen a single set of them yet. Angled ramps and pathways seemed all the rage thus far. Not being a big proponent of stairs myself (except downward), I could appreciate this ramp factor.

So with the Earth (still not sure if it was my Earth) floating high above me, I descended the curved downward ramp, which was far more narrow than the walkway I'd just left behind. This much smaller extension seemed to be made of the same advanced material as the main pathway, and everything looked so seamless. Was this a basic building material somewhere in our own future, or some amazing creation of an alternate Earth? Since I had no comprehension of the local language some questions and details would remain unanswered, yet my curiosity pulled me inevitably along. Still ever determined to see more of this wondrous place, I continued my unconventional journey.

Part Three: The Coming Future

As I arrived at the bottom, the ramp smoothed out into a level winding path. I purposefully skirted past the very edge of the smaller golden field, not wishing to rouse the ire or annoyance of the mysterious and magnificent rolling golden creature, if that's what it actually was.

Upon closer inspection, the golden field appeared to be just like normal grass, except this was gold. In all my life, I'd never seen a golden lawn, and this was spectacular! I knew better than to touch it, so I just stared in personal awe. I wanted to learn and see, not disrupt anything here. Learning should not disrupt or disturb, but wonderfully enlighten.

My next stop was to see all the various tables and displays I had noticed from above. Looking to the distance, I noticed that the woman I saw earlier was still standing there in the vast golden field, arms outstretched and not moving. With Earth floating high above (though we were the ones floating above earth actually), and gold below.

Could she have been the very same woman I'd met earlier in the 'school' area? The general profile looked similar, but the distance was too far for me to be sure. Either way, she still there stock-still in either earthly worship or divine welcome. Both were quite possible here, and perhaps anything was also possible in this wondrous place? Did the concept of deities even exist here, or was the Earth itself now considered such, and worshipped accordingly? This seemingly impossible place I was visiting certainly seemed divine enough to me. If this was actually somehow Heaven than it was a bit more technological than I would have expected.

This place also seemed to possess special qualities that our world often lacks. Shared compassion, kindness and a more public humor. People here laughed often, maybe more than words actually spoken. They weren't afraid to show a more basic happier nature: Perhaps because this reality somehow exemplified happiness? I couldn't even imagine being miserable here, It didn't seem remotely possible, This seemed a place of learning and shared joy, not suffering and greed.

In our world, If a fella like me keeled over on the street, very few would actually help me but would either walk over me, or video it for online likes. In this utopian world, everyone would help, eagerly. Kindness was stamped upon ever face I saw, regardless of color or race.

There were lots of others streaming past me on the path even down here, and again I received a few odd looks, regardless of the fact that everyone here was unusually dressed and adorned. I noticed faces of many colors, including ones I'd never see on Earth faces, unless painted on. I suspect the famous Las Vegas blue man group would fit in quite well in this highly unconventional place.

It seemed brightest day out here, though I noticed no sun in this particular sky, just a really bright daytime Earth and the space around it. I truly seemed to be floating in the heavens. The sun was likely behind/underneath whatever this orbiting platform was. This couldn't possibly be our moon, because the Earth appeared far too close. It dominated most of the sky here.

This Earth perspective was so awe-inspiring I had to purposely look away from it, desiring to see more of this place.

Arriving at the tables I stopped for a closer peek. The surfaces themselves looked ordinary, made of both wood and metal, and seemingly designed simplistically. Appearance-wise they would seem right at home in any standard bingo-hall. My mother forced me to go to them as a child, so I knew them quite well.

These looked like simple functional surfaces to display objects, nothing more, although finding hidden features wouldn't have surprised me a bit at this point. Not after what I'd personally witnessed here thus far.

This area very much reminded me of our flea markets, except there were no attendants, and nothing was being sold.

These tables lined the pathway on both sides, with no particular organization that I could notice. I don't know what I expected to find here, but this wasn't it. There were various objects scattered and placed every which way on every available surface. These tables and objects didn't seem technological at all, but more ordinary to my world

. I saw pretty colored stones, dinner plates, rings, silverware, small silvery spheres, pens, decorative objects, a few old-timey pocket watches, and even small objects appearing to be carved wood. There was so much more there, but these were the objects I can recall seeing. They all seemed to have one thing in common: they looked ordinary. No technical devices were on these tables, just objects of sheer common mundanity and varying levels of usefulness.

Still trying to determine the reason for this weird flea-market type area, I watched others as they passed by. Some seemed to be picking up these objects randomly, taking whatever seemed to take their fancy. As I looked, I noticed someone dressed in a silver-looking outfit, with a long coat(also bright silver, with a glittery effect), he picked up a beautiful orange-colored smooth stone. Reaching into a glittery pocket, he took out a small object, which looked like a round hand-mirror. He placed it on the table, and pocketed the orange stone. Was this some sort of "honor-system" type exchange? He took one object, and replaced it with another. Very interesting to me.

However, I also noticed something else. Certain others were taking objects without this exchange, and some others would put small objects down without taking a thing, though everyone seemed to browse.

So, maybe this system was like those little plastic displays we often see on many convenience store counters? Leave a penny or take them as needed, but on a massive scale. Exchange didn't seem mandatory, but voluntary. Take what you like, want or need, and perhaps leave behind what you don't need or can easily bear to part with. Seems like a reasonable philosophy to me, but I've always been against greedy attitudes and vicious selfish-oriented capitalism.

It's just not in my nature to think that way, either in lifestyle or attitude. If this was how this particular world or system worked, it seemed a perfect society that had rejected greed on a planetary scale, or somehow made it obsolete.

Coming to the joyous realization that this was a place or time I could finally find personal happiness in, I was also greatly saddened and disappointed. I very much wanted to stay if possible. Alas I knew I was but a temporary visitor to a paradise I'd never see again within my present lifetime. I only knew that my own flawed selfish-oriented world awaited my inevitable and regretful return. To celebrate a utopian world that will exist someday, or to mourn the fact that i'll never get to live there. So I felt joy and sadness simultaneously.

It's truly a tragic realization when one finds a personally utopian world that matches one's very own ideals while also understanding that it hasn't even been created yet; and yet will never be granted the honor and privilege of living there. Perhaps the epitome of tragedy, seeing true happiness for others, and realizing it can never be yours.

From what I could see, there was no misery present here in this place, nor would it ever be welcome in this splendid space. I noticed neither selfishness or hate, or even common strife. This entire "reality" seemed to embrace free learning, sharing, and legitimate joyousness. Only pleased smiles and laughter seemed to surround me as various objects were taken from the tables, and others were often left in their place. Whatever principles were valued here, they seemed conducive to happiness. Nothing seemed to have a cost in the traditional sense. They sold nothing but joy, which was free anyway. Which was the most likely explanation for the smiles on each and every face I saw.

Of course, I wasn't smiling, not because I wasn't happy, but my mouth was perpetually stuck open in a universal "wow" expression. I was so struck with perpetual awe, my face reflected that.

Looking further down the direction I was walking, the pathway widened out, while the number of tables fell to none. I noticed a silvery railing appear on both sides of the now widened path, which closely resembled a kind of guard railed-type bridge, but quite bereft of vehicles. I only saw various small groups of people walking around, but not a single type of vehicle. Looking to the far end of this 'bridge' it appeared to be covered in thick murky greyish fog, which thoroughly obscured whatever might lie beyond it.

There were small groups standing around having some very animated conversations, not a word of which I actually understood. I also saw a few strolling towards me and the tabled area that now lay behind me. Of course, I was here to explore and see, and to find out whatever I could about this divine place, but the foggy area intrigued me as well. I saw no one walk directly into it, but did notice someone coming out of it to join a small group standing there.

Heading across the bridge (assuming that's exactly what it was) I passed these small groups happily chatting away. I still couldn't understand a single word of what they were saying since the language here was yet a mystery, which was highly frustrating to me as a natural communicator and writer.

What I instinctively understood is that they all seemed ecstatic to be here. I couldn't help but wonder, were these all actual residents of this wondrous place, or merely temporary travelers and visitors simply passing through to enjoy the wonders shown here. If they were travelers (like me), how did they already know a common language? Perhaps I was the odd man left out of the loop? Granted sight and other senses to experience this place, but not to actually understand what this place was, nor where or even when? To see and know there's actually a sliver of hope for humanity's future, even If I didn't know how it would come about. Perhaps that's the entire point of this visitation. I was a stranger in a strange land, but at least it seemed a happy one indeed.

Finally, I reached the edge of the fog, which seemed so perfectly delineated that it could have been behind glass. That's how sharp the edge looked right as I got close to it.

Looking back in the direction I had left behind, I could still see the Earth floating high above in the distance. Was this a form of Heaven? If so, it seemed as close to perfection as might be humanly possible. Turning back, my curiosity showing its full allure, I stepped through into the fog bereft of all fear.

I could see nothing beyond this, just the grey swirling fog, but as I kept going forward, I did hear some odd sounds that didn't seem to fit in this place. Listening carefully, I heard what seemed to be crunches of metal, and police sirens. Low at first, but as I kept going into the fog, these out of place sounds got much louder. Such mundane sounds seemed completely out of place here.

Suddenly, wailing sirens in my ears, I felt something push against my foot. Looking down, I saw my bare feet, and beyond I saw black leather pressing against them. The fog cleared faster than I expected, and I realized the black leather pressed against the bottom of my feet was the side arm of my black couch!

I looked up, and the fog was gone, leaving just a hazy effect, like any average bingo hall filled with lifelong chainsmokers. Looking around, the environment was yet again my living room, and I was laying down on my couch. The noises I had heard were coming from my tv blaring from some crime movie.

Dressed yet again in my home pajamas, I had returned to my origin point. This far more mundane Earth home of ours. On the far wall hung my long black leather coat, on its custom hanger by the door.

Alas, I was now home, and highly disappointed as well, since I didn't want to be here anymore, having seen a better place.

So, one final question, was this a world that someday will be? Or only a utopian possibility as yet unrealized? I can only hope I'll revisit that impossible yet real place again. It is not my job to convince you this happened, only to relate to others what I experienced myself, perhaps the ideal world within our grasp?

The End?
