I’ve never been to the Orient, but my understanding has always been that the size/strength difference between many western sexpats and the natives, especially in places like SEA and the Philippines.

Not to say that they couldn’t just stab him or jump him with a gang of 20 gremlins, but I think the risk/reward becomes too great when you can’t just ‘Mano y Mano’ someone.
