It depends where you were born. Often it easier to deal with another culture's degeneracy than with your own, because you are less involved. That is one of the reasons I live in India, although I am Japanese, mostly brought up in the UK

I live for a number of years in Europe. The problem there is the cost of living. You have to work hard and yet all your money evaporates just to purchase the bare necessities. Even more so than in the US. It is not the case here.
