At the end of the date, he asked if he could kiss me and I said yes. It was the first time in my life I had to stand on my tiptoes to kiss a guy. I’m not going to lie — it made me feel almost giddy. I suddenly understood why some of my shorter friends love men who absolutely dwarf them. It was such a different energy.
We never went on a second date. Ultimately it felt more like a friend vibe, and he was still in school while I already had a career and owned my home. Our life stages just didn’t align. Shortly after, I ended up in a long-term relationship with a man one inch shorter than me. We even got engaged. I ended up calling off the wedding because he became unfaithful and abusive — which was hard but the right decision.
I still think about that date sometimes, not because of him specifically, but because of that unexpected giddy feeling. I’d love to find that again someday.
She'll never forget the feeling of getting mogged by 7'1 gigachad, chadwidowed for life.
