I worked this out today!
I was thinking "Why are there fewer impactful games on Switch compared to back on the 'Cube?"
Especially if you exclude first-party games.
But it's because the 'Cube was actually really powerful for its time, so it got lots of great AAAs and AAs. Whereas the Switch is very underpowered compared to the competition (PC, Xbox, PS) so it ends up with... kind of watered-down games or simple games, oftentimes.
Maybe the Switch isn't really a very exciting machine unless you love the first-party titles.
