Idk in the US but it got popularized here in Europe.
They play like men from district divisions, it sucks, but they still get to be seen on major sports channels and think it's normal. Not only that but they'll regularly complain about being paid less when in fact they're overpaid because of their gender - no one would watch men playing so poorly nor pay men playing so poorly. Perfect example of how egalitarianism is an absurdity and always ends up being a cover power grab for women, not through meritocratic equality but through essentialism ie female privilege.
In this shitty french article they admit it but as usual spin it in a ridiculous and insulting way.
The intro already sets the tone :
! Those STRONG WOMEN ! It means they not only have it hard, but men couldn't do the same !
Basically what they did is to make men play football with a basketball and on a larger field. I wont go into the details of this but it's scientifically absurd, definitely something much more imponderable than they make it out to be, regardless this was supposed to emulate the physical and physiological conditions of those poor women ! All of a sudden we can say that they're naturally weak and inept, if it pushes some pro women narrative.
This narrative is reflected in the interviewed player's attitude :
not only playing like utter shit and being over promoted and overpaid for it... but being praised for it at the detriment of men.
I'll go even further and say that such propaganda and cultural attitude over the years made women feel superior to men.

See"I spent the match asking the referee how much time was left to play": when men play football in the same conditions as women
SCIENCE.On the eve of the Women's Euro 2020 quarter-final between Germany and France, we're likely to hear again that when girls play football, the game is slow and the matches aren't spectacular. It's true, but it's normal, explains science.
This narrative is reflected in the interviewed player's attitude :
Typical contemporary man here. This yielding, indulgent, complacent attitude to an ideologically oriented experiment and mediatic coverage. He doesnt know that when women read that kind of trash they really end up thinking that there's nothing wrong with them. That there's some merit in being obscenely privileged :One of the players, who had put himself in a girl's shoes for the sake of science, concluded that it was his worst football experience. When the presenter asked him if he would do it again, the answer came quickly: "No, never. Really, respect to the girls!"
