The gamecube & SNES brutally mog the nintendo64 & always have. The only three stand out games from the Nintendo64 are Ocarina Of Time, Majora's mask & the impressive port of Resident Evil 2. The PS1 too was better than the Nintendo64 since it had better games & was more powerful.

I agree that the PS1 mogged hard but there are definitely more good N64 games than that tbh

I grew up with the N64 and while other systems mog its library hard, the few good games it had had a shit ton of replay value. There was one point in my life when all I needed was smash bros and perfect dark an I was perfectly content.

That, and there were no load times or scratch disc and laser issues the ps1 had .

Based. Nintendo was so greedy back then that they decided to use cartridges because they're harder to pirate than CDs. Imagine depriving your audience of full-fledged video inserts and a complete soundtrack out of greed.

Saturn deserves more attention than the N64 in the fifth generation.

As a huge N64 fan, I feel the need to give my extremely balanced and objectively valuable input:

The N64 is mid, sadly. It holds a very special place in my heart as the first console I witnessed released (I was born in 1993) so I'll always feel a fondness for it. The memories as a kid playing Mario Kart 64 or Super Mario 64 with my neighbor kids and uncle will always stick with me. The graphics actually blew my mind back then and I thought they could never get any better. (Grew up on NES and Genesis)

The N64 was definitely a "you had to be there to enjoy it" console. There were some objectively great hidden gems, such as Road Rash 64. Or Rush 2. But that era was a very awkward era in gaming where the transition from 2D to 3D was taking place and many studios just didn't quite know how to handle it. Plus PC gaming was starting to really take off in that era, so consoles were no longer competing with arcade cabinets but actual powerful hardware. (And has since.)

It holds nostalgia for me and I still have my childhood N64 hooked up to my TV. Personally I will always stand by it being my favorite console ever, even if it had a short life and is a bit overrated. But it was a fun era to be in. Anyone born in the 80s or 90s will probably enjoy it. But if you weren't around to experience it when it was released, there's really no real draw to try it out today... it's just a short, curious, awkward but important piece of gaming history where devs shifted from flat, overhead 2D games and platformers to full worlds. For...better or for worse.

Nintendo has always been greedy as fuck. Japanese devs historically hated working with Nintendo, which is why consoles like the PC Engine and even the Saturn were successful there

None outside of those three interest me. They're the only three I even bothered to emulate.

The cartridges were easier to lose too. Pure anti-consumer business practice from nintendo.

And there was a maximum of 64 mb on the cartridge. It was more difficult for developers to port the game from other platforms (Saturn, PC, PS1), and players didn't get music or video inserts. It would have been better if Nintendo had gone bankrupt and Sega had survived.

It had some must play games tho like Goldeneye and the two Zelda games. Pokemon stadium was also a mogger.

N64 games were very expensive in EE markets, blockbusters were over 200 bucks. Sony had a mod chip and that was the main reason why everyone had it.

I see that console as weird nostalgia land for millennials and oldest zoomies. Nobody in Europe gives a fuck about garbage N64 only Americans jerk off to those ugly and extremely dated games. I want to puke when i look at them. SNES, PSX, gamecube, ps2, dreamcast, og xbox aged much better. I wish we could wipe internet from any mentions of N64 i'm tired of those retards praising that crap. No your doshit bond game is not good. No your mario 64 is shit. But Zelda Ocarina of Time was not bad just overrated, Majora's mask was trash, RE2 i know it was the best port but nowadays it's doesn't matter due emulation and fixed PC port with mods.

The Nintendo 64 is basically the millennial version of the 60s boomer rock music counter-culture :lul:

They have never even replayed those turds when they are adults. They would get shocked how garbage both of those games feel to play today. And even at the time of Geye64 we already had superior Doom, Quake 1/2, Heretic/Hexen, Duke Nukem and they act that crap they play on controller is much better lmao. Ai of enemies is completely braindead and weapons are boring and weak. It's like a alpha version of a game rather than a real product.

Pilot Wings is exceptional as well. I remember watching a small review of it where the reviewer explained that at the time it even rivaled flight simulators.

Doom 64 on their console mogs the shit out of geye64 and it was released few years before that crappy overrated game, and yet they act like that game was never released because they have played maybe at max 3-6 games on that console. What a pathetic life they had with only one game a year :society: while i on pc was gaming like crazy switching games constantly

Pathetic redditard fanboys are crying once someone discovers their beloved "god tier" game is dogshit.

They act like all games will get shit with age and yet i'm playing Heretic which is much older than their n64 turd and it's still damn fun and fully playable. Not aged like ugly ass early 3d with braindead ai and no fun enemies to fight where is variety in golden eye 64? There is nothing as game was following movies with boring humans and boring real life guns.

What about nfs most wanted which i've beat recently soon it will be 20 years old. So what? It's still an amazing game that passed test of time, unlike most n64 games.

Even Snes games aged much better. N64 should become a forgotten console as PSX had way many cooler titles that play better and look better. Syphon Filter on psx mogs the shit out of GoldenEye64, there are also alien games and medal of honor or even original doom ports. And even on 64 you have a plenty of much better titles that aged better even in bond franchise you had The World Is Not Enough, Turok or Duke Nukem (probably ran like shit).

Problem of N64 millennial nostalgiafags is that they had barely any games to play, their parents were jews and never wanted to give them more than a couple of titles in a span of console lifecycle. So they have played very few titles to death and gave that limited selection a cult classic status despite them not being worth of that title in any way shape or form.

They also love excuse garbage hardware and lazy devs and act like 20fps is more than enough to play games, imagine loving eating turds and get angry at someone points it's bad for your health that's your average tendy n64 fanboy :feelskek:What a bunch of subhumans.

My dude the PS1 was not that powerful only difference it had disk which are cheaper then cartridge and allows game dev to add more stuff into the game that's the difference

everything nintendo is overrated. every console every game

I think this is a good game on it. N64 would've been a great console back then to have if you had friends or family to play with. In fact I think that was one of the main marketing gimmicks of the N64.
Now there's better games to play locally, but back then N64 really was the best console to play with friends/family. Especially since PS1 initially didn't have four controller ports like the N64 did.

Based. Nintendo was so greedy back then that they decided to use cartridges because they're harder to pirate than CDs. Imagine depriving your audience of full-fledged video inserts and a complete soundtrack out of greed.
Piracy was no joke. It could completely destroy a consoles software sales if it went out of control. Companies stopped supporting the psp because piracy was so bad they were unable to make a profit on making games for it.

Yeah, this notion that Mario 64 is the best 3d Mario is laughable. It's no where near one of the best games ever either.

64 doesn't suck. I wouldn't say it's a bad game. That's hyperbolic. It's just a game that has aged poorly due being rather shallow in comparison to its sequels. I would categorize it as an ok game.

A genuinely bad N64 platformer would be Banjo Kazooie. That game has aged like milk. At least Mario is fun to control in Mario 64. (One of the reasons I enjoy Mario 64 romhacks.)

I got mad reading the transcript to this video. What an absolute retard. He first has the nerve to state that fucking Mario Odyssey and Banjo Kazooie are better platformers, (GAMES THAT BARELY HAVE ANY CONSIDERABLE PLATFORMING) and then goes on to say that the controls are bad? Something I don't understand at all as someone who beat the original version only recently.
Lastly, he says THE BEST LEVELS IN MARIO 64, IE: THE BOWSER STATES AND TICKTOCK CLOCK ARE BADLY DESIGNED. His reasoning? Oh, they go against the core of the games design by being challenging aka ACTUAL PLATFORMING. How was this retard filtered by the first fucking Bowser stage? My god, someone should force him to play Crash Bandicoot. This is the kind of twat who thinks spamming collectibles everywhere and allowing you to collect them in any order, DUUUUURR, is good level design. I bet he hates the peak kino that is Mario Sunshine as well.

It was my childhood, spend countless hundreds of hours on it. It was brilliant, but I'm sure at least some of that is nostalgia.

LMAO!
That's literally what I said.

Also big props for ragging on a console older than yourself. :feelsokman: So brave, so stunning. What JewTuber gave you that opinion?
